Case Study E:

E was a seven-year-old girl, with a severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss in the right ear, and no measurable hearing in the left ear. At the time of testing she wore a Unitron Icon AoHP BTE hearing aid on her right ear. She had received regular Auditory-Verbal therapy at home since age two.

E demonstrated an improvement on the TAC following six weeks of training, increasing from level six to level seven (level seven requires the child to sequence three events in a story). This performance level was maintained at the follow-up test.
